Columbia River Home

This client had already removed an old metal spiral staircase before we ever got involved, leaving nothing but an open gap between floors. Rather than working around an existing structure, we started with a blank slate and designed a free-standing staircase from the ground up.

BEFORE: Open stairwell after the old metal spiral staircase was removed at the Columbia River home.
AFTER: New free-standing staircase built with Sapele Mahogany and stainless steel cables at the Columbia River home.

We handled the full scope ourselves, design, manufacturing, and installation, so the client had a single point of contact from concept to finished staircase. Sapele Mahogany carries the treads, column wraps, railings, and posts, paired with stainless steel cable that keeps the free-standing structure feeling open rather than boxed in.
