What You’re Really Looking At

A new grand staircase to show design build luxury stair buildersWhen you browse these photos, you’re not looking at staged showroom displays or manufacturer stock imagery. Every staircase, railing system, and millwork installation you see here was completed inside a real home in Southwest Washington — by the same crew, on schedule, cleaned up daily, and built to exceed local code.

That distinction matters.

Most homeowners who come to us have already had a frustrating experience — a contractor who disappeared mid-project, a finished product that didn’t match the quote, or a staircase that squeaks, shifts, or simply doesn’t look right. What you see in these galleries is what happens when a design-build team with a genuine legacy of precision takes full ownership of a project from day one.

Ron Sylwester co-developed and patented interlocking railing systems in the 1970s. That same mathematical rigor drives every project Staircrafters takes on today. We don’t guess at geometry. We calculate it.

Our immaculate 5-star reputation on Google, Yelp, and Houzz isn’t an accident. It’s the result of 30+ years of showing up on time, communicating daily, and refusing to cut corners, even when no one would notice.

If what you see in these galleries reflects the standard you expect for your home, we’d love to talk.

Frequently Asked Questions About Staircase Installation & Remodeling

Because we operate as a premium design-build contractor, every project is entirely bespoke. Pricing depends heavily on your choice of materials (e.g., luxury hardwoods vs. stainless steel cable systems), structural complexity, and leveling requirements. We do not offer generic, low-ball phone bids. We provide honest, accurate, transparent estimates only after an extensive on-site structural review of your job site.

Absolutely. Structural integrity and safety are our highest priorities. Every staircase construction project we undertake strictly adheres to or exceeds local SW Washington and Oregon building codes, ensuring perfect riser heights, tread depths, and railing safety.

While we historically serviced Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, we intentionally downsized in 2015 to focus on delivering unmatched quality locally. Today, we proudly serve homeowners exclusively in the Southwest Washington area (including Vancouver, Camas, Ridgefield, and Clark County).

To keep our overhead focused entirely on premium materials and master-level labor, we do not accept credit cards. We accept cash or check payments, with clear, transparent milestones outlined in your contract before any work begins.

We respect your home as if it were our own. Staircase remodeling can be dusty work, which is why our crew implements strict dust containment practices and performs a meticulous clean-up at the end of every single workday. You will never be left living in a disaster zone.

We work strictly by appointment only to ensure every client receives our undivided attention. Contact us today to check our current availability and schedule your on-site consultation.
