Getting the In-Between Right
Most staircases have one tricky spot most homeowners never notice until it’s wrong: the transition where an upper staircase meets a lower one. This client wanted the whole staircase modernized, but that in-between area was where the real work happened.

We worked closely with the client to change out the existing sub stair treads in that transition zone, correcting a detail that’s easy to overlook but affects how the entire staircase feels underfoot. Clear coated Rustic White Oak carried the caps, railings, and posts throughout, tying the upper and lower sections into one cohesive design.
