This client came to us with a clear vision already in mind: a rail pattern they wanted matched precisely. We used their design as a template to laminate and bend a Black Walnut landing and stair railing in one continuous, curved section, paired with slim black iron balusters for a look that’s warm but modern.

BEFORE: We used the clients rail pattern as a template to laminate and bend Black Walnut
landing and stair railing in one section. We also corrected existing staircase and installed the clients
wood parts for the treads, risers and landing.

Getting there took more than just building the rail. As the before photo shows, this staircase needed real structural correction, framing, subfloor, and the staircase itself all had to be addressed before any finish work could begin. Once the structure was sound, we installed the client’s own wood parts for the treads, risers, and landing, integrating their materials seamlessly with our curved rail work for a finished piece that looks effortless.
